Carlaw

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to take a moment and share with you the project that has been keeping me busy for the past few weeks.

The backstory:

My "sister in law", as she likes to refer to me as, approached me a little while ago and asked if I would like to help her with a project. She buttered me up with complements like, "I really like your decretive style" and "since you quit your job...", so I had to say yes. I was beyond excited to be hired for something different then portraits or product. I have done interiors before, but nothing like this space. When I walked in, I felt like I was home. It was beyond wonderful working with Hilary (my partners sister and realtor extraordinaire) on cleaning, prepping, decorating, and planning for the space. She is very hands on and knows what she likes, and that is one of my favourite things about her personality. At some point she mentioned that she wanted to shoot a video, too. I said I knew how to shoot video, but I didn't know much about editing footage. She told me that she had someone in mind to help with the shoot, but it wasn't quite final yet; I sighed in relief.

When I met Adam, we were both taking in the fantastic space on our first visit to the loft. I thought we really hit it off and had the same ideas, I instantly got even more excited. It is very refreshing working with someone with as much sunny disposition and eagerness for their craft as I have; video for him, photography for myself. The three of us got a game plan and a story line, and the ball was rolling. I called up some model friends of mine and they instantly said yes.

The rest is history saved in this lovely short film about a space that we enjoyed and filled with even more wonderful memories.

Enjoy

Port Credit

Hello there, It has been a little while since my last post (I'm not doing a very good job at posting everyday, unfortunately). I have been working on a few projects that are launching very soon, and I am very excited about them. I will be posting those this week.

In the mean time; I spent the holiday weekend doing all sorts of random visiting. It was wonderful to get a chance to head to my Dads house to visit his partner and her wonderful mother, who was in town from New Brunswick. I booked a Zip Car and grabbed my siblings and we drove off to port credit for a visit. Now, my dad was in Jerusalem, at a dragon boat competition and meeting the mayor, no joke (he actually met the Mayor or Jerusalem, on Jerusalem Day, no less). This was a very special visit because we were celebrating Tricia's birthday (my dads partner) even though it had happened almost a month pervious. Anyways, I begged Tricia to let me take pictures of her mother and her for her birthday present.

Here are some shots from that late afternoon. It was a really special visit, and I hope I captured the visit nicely.

Enjoy,

JMS
