Today was a busy day, that was the lead into a busy day tomorrow. This morning, over breakfast, I decided to reorganize some of my images and make sure that lightroom can see all my photos from the last year and a bit. While doing this, I noticed some beautiful images of someone very important in my life who I haven't posted about yet. I realized that she is the only family member of mine that hasn't showed up on my blog. Now this isn't because I don't hang out with her, it's just that I haven't spent much time photographing her.
I dwelled on these images all day, while I was dealing with the more busy things. Before bed, I felt the need to post these images up and share this special person with everyone (much to my 'roommates' annoyance because my space bar makes a loud clicking noise). She has been around me me whole life, shared her room, clothes, stories, and much more with me. She is and will always have a huge part of my heart. She is beautiful and talented in so many ways. My sister, Ashley.
Enjoy,
JMS

Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday, Rachel.
My week has been filled with love from my amazing friend Rachel, and I am oh so happy about this. The boy and I embarked on a wild journey to Newmarket this past Monday to celebrate the existence of Rachel. We ran into some stressful issues on our way up; lost bookings, crazy rain, crazy hail, CRAZY SNOW?!?!; but we made it. As a gift, I attempted to photograph her and her friends who also ventured out of their homes to celebrate as well. Here are a few that I managed to grab. Please notice Rachel's beautiful glowing eyes in every photo, they are amazing.
Enjoy,
JMS
PS: Rachel and her sweet sweet boyfriend, Matt, were being really cute so I made them sit together and let me document their adoration for each other. It was beautifully awkward (award on my part, beautiful on theirs). Enjoy those too, they are at the bottom.

For Mark
While I was just posting, I decided that these images were differently beautiful, and should get their own post. I took these while we were sailing back from a beautiful day of walking around on an empty island beach in John Pennekamp state park.
Mark, I do hope you enjoy these as much as I think you will. Thanks for being a wonderful Captain.

I'm on my way!
Well now then, this will be my second post in less then 24 hours. I am trying to post more consistantly over the next little while, no matter how busy I get. I would like to keep everyone updated, as best as a possibly can. Also, to keep a fun record of my progress in my career. Over the next week I'm going to also try working my way through some of my old hard drives and images from through out school. I am obviously also going to try and shoot some new stuff and post some of those too.
These Images are from Key West, and the sail back up from Key Largo. I feel like I could have maybe taken more pictures, but I don't want to spend my entire trip with my camera in my face, as much as I really wanted too. I wanted to spend as much time with my mom as I could, so I was very selective when it came to photographing the Florida around me.
I really hope you enjoy these,
JMS

The wife...
So, while my mom was here, I had the pleasure of visiting my dearest friend/sister/wife (we are not officially married, but when we are together we act like an old married couple) Rachel Machnik. Her and I enjoyed a wonderful walk in my home town of Newmarket, Ontario. We walked to Main Street, had some tea and lunch and an amazing conversation. Then I bought 2 dozen tarts from this little bakery/diner called "The Maids Cottage" (I have been eating their amazing tarts since I was a child), and we sat out front on a bench to eat some tarts, because you can NEVER wait until you get home to have one, impossible. We sat, ate, chatted, and watched the lights change and the people go by (see, old married couple).
Rachel always loves sharing her talent and encourages others; this is why I love her. She insisted that we take photographs, and I love shooting Rachel, she is beautiful and takes direction so amazingly (as you can see from many blog posts of images of her glowing face and beautiful figure) but this time, she insisted that she take photos of... ME? So I allowed it and she did an amazing job. One of these images will be on my website, I'm sure.
I hope you enjoy them,
JMS
*A quick little blip about this last image that has me just glowing as I post this:
I was editing and was getting a little self-conscious about myself and my wonderful boyfriend said "When I look at you, I see a pair of eyes. The rest of you just complements them. You're beautiful." I just love him.

Oh Mother
So, my mother is here for a visit *yay*. There have been 5 of us residing in my tiny apartment on and off for the last two weeks. It has been cozy, but amazing. I had to jump at the opportunity to have some wonderful photographs taken of my mom and I while she is in town. My very good friend, Stephanie McGinn (http://stephaniemcginn.com), took these amazing photos of us, and I am ever so grateful. Here are my favourites.
Thank you again, Steph.
Enjoy,
JMS
Also, a thank you to my very sweet boyfriend for holding the reflector... and for this gem:
